Miguel Joey Aviles is recognized as one of the Top 100 Executive Leaders by Diversity MBA Magazine. Aviles is the first civilian in the history of the U.S. Coast Guard to become the Chief of Diversity and Inclusion. A motivational D&I Influencer, he inspires leaders of leaders to believe and act in the power of belonging, inclusion, equity, and diversity. As a TEDx speaker and author of the e-book “Hispanics 101: How to Recruit, Manage and Grow your Hispanic Workforce,” Aviles leverages his talent as a storyteller to bridge the gap between the hearts and minds in charge of leading policy development, management, planning, coordination and execution of the Coast Guard’s service-wide Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) programs. Miguel is an award-winning D&I Thought Leader with over a decade of experience at the Department of Defense, the Department of Interior and the Department of Homeland Security.
