Vijay Bhatt is the Deputy Chief Technology Officer at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care. Cultivated, guided and led significant inclusion-related change at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care for the past 10 years. Vijay is an active member of the Marketplace Inclusion Core Team. His relationship- oriented approach and depth of knowledge have helped open the company to new ideas. Specifically, Vijay has ensured that Harvard Pilgrim’s research and implementation reflect the needs of the various communities served by Harvard Pilgrim. Vijay has made varied and important contributions to Harvard Pilgrim’s “Eastern Harmony” program that combines Eastern and Western medicine. He has also suggested valued vendors and partners in the community and represented Harvard Pilgrim with enthusiastic expertise. Vijay has also brought technical insights to further Harvard Pilgrim’s approach to data collection – contributing to a more specific and relevant understanding of our members’ ethnicity. This data plays a significant role in our efforts to achieve health equity and positively impact population health. Vijay is the innovator and Executive Co-Sponsor of a newly-launched employee resource group called My Members Wellness. The group’s members volunteer as Community Wellness Ambassadors to drive engagement, build community, develop leadership and deliver business impact in the area of health and wellness. Vijay had lived in four different continents and is well aware and appreciates the beautiful colors of the multiple cultures. Vijay seats on the Board of Directors for the Partnership for Successful Living in Nashua, NH. Vijay was also the past winner of the Individual Change Agent award from the color magazine.
Vijay holds a Masters in Computational Geometry from Cranfield University, United Kingdom.
