Tufts Health Plan is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1979, nationally recognized for its commitment to providing innovative, high-quality health care coverage.  Staying true to its mission of improving the health and wellness of the diverse communities they serve, Tufts is the only local health plan that provides lifespan health coverage, regardless of age or circumstance.

Diversity and inclusion is a key company value that not only emphasizes recruiting and retaining diverse employees who embrace differences and act equitably; it’s also critical to business growth. Tufts’ Business Diversity program is a strategic priority and an integral part of the senior leadership team’s planning and goals. Business Diversity is focused on six areas:

  • Creating workforce diversity, engagement, and development
  • Supporting diverse communities
  • Enhancing the multicultural member experience
  • Expanding access to multicultural providers
  • Implementing culturally-oriented Health Equity Programs
  • Increasing diverse supplier spending

Corporate Citizenship is integrated into all aspects of the business, underpinning operations, treatment of employees, and demonstration of company values. Through the Tufts Health Plan Foundation and corporate sponsorships, Tufts contributes nearly $4.5M annually to community organizations in the communities in which its members live and work.
