Tom Bourdon, Ed.D.
Head of Inclusion & Diversity — Staples Inc.
Dr. Tom Bourdon is a Boston-based organizational leader who has spent the past two decades serving at the helm of multiple Diversity & Inclusion, LGBTQ, and education-focused organizations. In 2019, he became the Head of Inclusion & Diversity for Staples. Prior to Staples, Tom served as the Executive Director of Greater Boston PFLAG and has also led LGBT Centers at UCLA, NYU and Tufts University (where he also chaired Tufts’ Social Justice Leadership Initiative). Throughout his career, Tom has also been a D&I consultant, trainer, and speaker for countless organizations in the corporate, non-profit, higher education and government sectors.
Dr. Bourdon’s experience in both higher education and the non-profit sector have allowed him to partner and consult with countless for-profit and non-profit companies in need of guidance and expertise. He is highly sought after because of his unique style: culturally competent, genuine, intelligent, fun to work with, and passionate about creating positive change.
Tom received his bachelor’s from Babson College, a Masters of Education from UCLA and his Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Northeastern University. He is personally motivated to do this work based on his drive to generate more inclusion and equity in the world. He and his husband, Jimmy, are also the very proud dads of their son Lukas (age 9) and daughter Maya (age 7).
