Stephanie E. Turner is the Vice President of Diversity & Inclusion Strategic Engagement at Liberty Mutual Insurance in Boston, MA. She is responsible for creating and executing D&I strategic engagement enterprise-wide initiatives that drive business results and establishes a competitive advantage for our employees, customers, community partners, and vendors. Stephanie provides thought leadership in the areas of D&I entities, such as employee resource groups (ERGs) and councils, systemic processes, employee engagement, and best practice tools. She also oversees our D&I sponsorships portfolio to ensure we build on our global brand awareness, support our recruitment efforts, and manage our leadership development programs to increase our diverse talent pipelines.
Over the past 20 years, Stephanie has worked in six industries across the U.S., as a diversity practitioner. Previously, Stephanie was the Corporate Director of Diversity & Inclusion for Lockheed Martin in Bethesda, MD. Prior to that, she was the Director of Talent and Diversity & Inclusion for Kaiser Permanente in the NW Region, where she managed a team of 28 staff members in the Portland, OR office. At ESPN in Bristol, CT, as their associate director for diversity, Stephanie launched and managed eight ERGs and coordinated their company-wide mentoring program. She was the Global Inclusion & Diversity Manager in Motorola’s Corporate HR business for seven years. Prior to her tenure at Motorola in Schaumburg, IL, Stephanie worked in the oil industry for five years as a marketing and diversity consultant.
Stephanie was born in Bloomington, IN (a real “Hoosier Baby”) and grew up in Lexington, MA. She received her M.S. in Agricultural Economics from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville and her B.A. in Economics from Spelman College. Stephanie joined the regional board of directors for the American Red Cross of Massachusetts in September 2018. She and her wife, Charnelle Bryant reside in South Dorchester, MA.
