Boston, MA — On Saturday, May 18th, 2019, Queens Company will host their signature event “The Queens Dinner,” an evening created to bringing women of color together to build community over dinner, networking, an empowerment workshop, and minority women-owned vendors.

Founded in 2016, this experience came about after the creator of The Queens Dinner and CEO of Queens Company, Jessicah Pierre, realized there was a huge barrier for women of color in the greater Boston area looking to grow professionally and entrepreneurially while seeking to build genuine relationships with other like-minded women who looked like them. The Queens Dinner, held every few months, is meant to be a safe space to cast off the armor one needs to survive in a world that so often dismisses and stereotypes women of color.

“It’s always amazing to see all of the meaningful connections and empowerment that occurs when you fill a room with women of color who are successful in their industries,” Pierre says. “The Queens Dinner brings a level of representation that is necessary for other women to see but often hard to find in this city.”

“Growing up in Boston as a young woman of color, it was very hard to find certain information and resources I needed to succeed,” said Valentina Arecy, Vice President of Queens Company. “The goal of The Queens Dinner is to fill that gap by providing a safe space where women of color are welcomed into a supportive network where they can receive the necessary support while connecting with other women both personally and professionally.”
