Damon Hart serves as Liberty Mutual Insurance’s Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel. He operates as the company’s chief employment and benefits counsel for its 55,000 employees worldwide.
Prior to joining Liberty, he was a partner at three national law firms–Littler Mendelson, Ogletree Deakins and Holland and Knight. While in private practice, Mr. Hart focused on litigation and employment matters. Mr. Hart has strong experience in a variety of complex business disputes before federal, state and local administrative agencies, at arbitration and in state and federal court on matters arising out of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and other federal, state and local anti-discrimination and employment statutes. Mr. Hart also has experience with Wage and Hour Class Action matters. In addition to his litigation work, he also provided business advice on contract, benefits, real estate and development matters.
Damon is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross where he was a starting forward on the basketball team, which appeared in the 1993 NCAA tournament. He also graduated from Boston College Law School. Damon resides in Brookline with his wife and two children. He enjoys coaching youth sports.
