Lucia Alcantara, MPA, Ed. D,
Dr. Alcantara is an educator and an entrepreneur. As President of Futures Today Consulting she works with social change leaders, executives and managers on how to adapt to, and grow from change. Lucia provides clients with training and staff development, capacity building and strategic planning; and has extensive experience developing adults’ competencies in workplace settings, universities and communities. She has worked with The City University of New York’s Professional Development and Learning Management Center, New York City’s Citywide Training Center, Cornell University, The World Bank and Rio de Janeiro’s Ministry of Health, to name a few. Drawn into education by it’s power for transformation, her most recent innovation is a curriculum that teaches participants how to become social entrepreneurs. The curriculum is called Buena Idea (Good Idea) and is being used to to increase economic opportunities for marginalized populations. A self-proclaimed foodie, Lucia has worked on four continents and is fluent in English, Spanish and French.
