HBO Latino’s Music Special ‘Farruko: En Letra de Otro’ to debut at NYLFF
New York, NY — The New York Latino Film (NYLFF), the nation’s premier and most diverse Latino film festival is excited to announce the invite-only premiere screening of HBO Latino’s music special ‘Farruko: En Letra de Otro’ starring Latin Grammy® winner and reggaeton artist Farruko on Thursday, August 15th, as part of this year’s Festival line-up. The special will later premiere on HBO Latino on Friday, August 23rd at 8 pm ET and simultaneously available on HBO GO®, HBO NOW®, HBO On Demand® and partners’ streaming platforms.
In this third edition of HBO Latino’s En Letra de Otro series created and produced by Sony Music Latin, Farruko sings his favorite songs that have inspired him throughout his career, and will be featured in his forthcoming album Farruko: En Letra de Otro, executive produced by Sharo Towers, releasing on Aug 23, by Sony Music Latin. His electrifying performances are intercut with intimate conversations about his upbringing and musical influences. Frankie Ruiz’s “Vuelvo a Nacer,” Jerry Rivera’s “Qué Hay de Malo,” Yandel’s “Te Suelto el Pelo,” Divino’s “Me Trancaron” and Ricardo Arjona’s “Asignatura Pendiente” are some of the songs included in the special. The special ‘Farruko: En Letra de Otro’was directed by Leonardo Linkowski and produced by Isabel De Jesús, Melissa Expósito, Ruben Leyva and Vicente Solís.

Farruko, a singer-songwriter from Bayamón, Puerto Rico, consistently demonstrates his dominion over most urban music subgenres from reggaeton to trap and has swept Billboard’s “Top Latin Albums,” “Top Latin Songs,” charts, dominating the coveted top positions for several weeks at a time. Farruko became a Latin Grammy® winner for his single “6 AM” featuring J Balvin, taking home the award for Best Urban Song. His international hits include: “Passion Whine” featuring Sean Paul, “Sunset” featuring Shaggy and Nicky Jam, and “Krippy Kush” featuring Bad Bunny. His collaboration with Pedro Capó, the first artist featured in HBO Latino’s first edition of En Letra de Otro, on “Calma (Remix)” was #1 on YouTube’s Top Tracks & Top Video Global Charts for four weeks and has garnered over 1.2 billion views.
This is the third edition of HBO Latino’s En Letra de Otroseries created and produced by Sony Music Latin. The first special, Pedro Capo: En Letra de Otro, premiered in August 2017 and went on to win a Latin Grammy® for the Best Long Form Video category. The second special, Gente de Zona: En Letra de Otropremiered in October 2018. Both are available to stream on all HBO platforms.
