Fred Lowery
Senior Vice President and President, Life Sciences Solutions & Laboratory Products – Thermo Fisher Scientific
Fred joined the company in 2005 as head of operations for the Molecular BioProducts business of Fisher Scientific International. He also led the transformation of the new product development process. When Fisher Scientific merged with Thermo Electron in 2006, Fred was named Vice President and General Manager of the Chromatography Consumables and Specialty Glass business within the Laboratory Consumables Division (LCD).
In 2010, he became Vice President and General Manager of the Life Science Research business within the Biosciences Division, and in 2011 was named President of LCD. In January 2014, Fred was named Senior Vice President and President of the Laboratory Products Group (LPG), and last year he also became Senior Operating Officer for the Life Sciences Solutions Group (LSG). In July 2017, his role expanded as he became President, LSG and Laboratory Products.
Prior to joining the company, Fred was a Product Director at Maytag Corporation and a Director of Lean Sigma and Supply Management. Earlier in his career, he was a Design Release Engineer at General Motors.
Fred holds a master’s degree in manufacturing management from Kettering University (formerly General Motors Institute of Engineering and Management) and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Tennessee Technological University.
