Join JSJ Events at Make Shift Boston on Monday, December 4th for Empowered: A Night of Poetry and Music, in support of Jane Doe Inc.

Empowered is a safe space, free speech, all-inclusive event organized by Jamileh Sabety-Javid, inviting individuals to share their stories through poetry and music. Empowered aims to bring people together and provide a sense of community, in a world that seeks to divide.

Guests of the event are invited to learn about Jane Doe Inc., connect with local artists and musicians, enjoy a mimosa bar, and share their stories on two open mics.

Following each open mic will be a spoken word performance by local poets Evan J. Cutts and Ricky Orng.

LA-born soul singer-songwriter, Rachel Gonzalez, is the featured headliner, performing thirty-minutes of hope-filled, healing music, to the accompaniment of Amin Mortada.

Growing up with several musical influences inspired Gonzalez to find her musical voice in Soul and R&B. Pouring her soul into her musical performances is a beautifully transformative experience that you don’t want to miss!

Empowered: A Night of Poetry and Music begins at 8:00 P.M.

Tickets are available at the door for a $5-$10 suggested donation.

Jane Doe Inc. is an incredible organization in Massachusetts that offers “unparalleled leadership [for] changing [the way] society views and reacts to sexual and domestic violence, [to] make our communities safer [for] today and for future generations.”
