World Music/CRASHarts has been awarded a $150,000 grant from The Boston Foundation to support our extensive dance programming in the greater Boston area.
The two year grant will allow World Music/CRASHarts to continue supporting its extensive dance programming featuring regional, national, and international contemporary and world dance companies. The grant will allow World Music/CRASHarts to expose, connect, and present greater Boston audiences with exceptional dancers and choreographers, offering opportunities for the community to interact with artists through performances, workshops, master classes, and artists talks. The organization presents approximately ten dance performances each year with the majority of artists making their Boston debut or presenting Boston premieres of new work.
Founder and Executive Director Maure Aronson exclaimed, “We are thrilled to receive support from The Boston Foundation for our dance programing. World Music/CRASHarts is committed to presenting the finest dance companies from around the globe in greater Boston. We have built a robust and loyal audience for established and emerging young companies, especially those presenting a contemporary view of our global community. This grant will allow us to continue and expand our programming and reach deeper into the local dance community.”
During the Winter/Spring 2017 season, World Music/CRASHarts will present five dance companies, all performing Boston premiere work.
