Ayanna Alcendor, Esq. is the Co-Founder of Great Lakes Legal Group, which specializes in Probate and Estate Planning, Family Law, Criminal Law, General and Civil Mediation, Business and Commercial Matters, Governmental Affairs in Metro Detroit.
Prior to joining Great Lakes Legal Group, Attorney Ayanna Alcendor was a principal at Allied Legal Consulting. She has successfully defended clients in matters ranging from minor traffic violations to drunk driving and domestic violence. Through her membership with the Oakland and Wayne County Criminal Bar Associations and Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan, she has worked with an expansive network of attorneys to get the best results for her clients. Her practice spans Metro Detroit’s tri-counties and throughout southeast Michigan. She regularly advocates against the curtailment of the rights of Michigan’s most vulnerable adults. Her work with Wayne and Oakland County Probate courts involves investigations as a Guardian Ad Litem. While zealous advocacy is the linchpin of her practice, Attorney Alcendor is also a SCAO-approved civil mediator.
A hardworking and determined advocate, Ayanna hails from Harrisburg, PA and relocated to the Metro Detroit Area in 2008 after earning her Bachelor’s degree from Denison University in Granville, OH. Attorney Alcendor obtained her Juris Doctorate degree from Western Michigan Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2013. Prior to becoming a licensed attorney and throughout her law school tenure, Alcendor interned at C&G Solutions, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan with Judge Mark A. Randon, the State Appellate Defender’s Office, the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, and a number of area boutique firms.
Attorney Alcendor’s diverse legal education and experience allow her to provide clients with exceptional representation across several practice areas including, Probate and Estate Planning, Tax Preparation, Criminal Defense and Family Law-Divorce, Child Custody and Parental Rights, and Civil and Special Education Mediation. She is also a proud member of Wolverine Bar, Straker Bar, and the Wayne County Probate Bar Associations. Attorney Alcendor is a volunteer Attorney with Clean Slate Expungement Clinics, Lakeshore Legal Aid, The Mediation Center of Mount Clemens, the Accounting Aid Society, and Oakland County Guardianship Reviews. In 2018, she received the Martindale Hubbell® Silver Client Champion Award for excellence in client service.
