Quincy Asian Resources, Inc. (QARI) will partner with the City of Quincy to host the 2017 August Moon Festival as Quincy’s Signature Event for the month of August. The August Moon Festival is a momentous holiday that celebrates the harvest and the moon as symbols of prosperity, happiness and unity in Asian culture. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the festival in Quincy, one of the largest August Moon Festivals in the Northeast, bringing together guests from all over Massachusetts for a celebration of culture and community spirit.
The festival historically reaches an attendance of well over 10,000 guests who gather to enjoy both traditional and contemporary performances, a taste of Asia and street fare from local restaurants and vendors, and amusements for all ages. August Moon returns to its street festival roots and will be showcased in its brand new downtown location on Coddington Street and features new additions of an August Moon Remix with hip hop, rap and beatbox performances, a petting zoo, rides and food, food, food.
The 2017 August Moon Festival takes place Sunday, August 20th 2017, from Noon to 5 PM, along Coddington St. in Downtown Quincy
