Seema Agnani has been selected as the Executive Director for the National Coalition for Asian Pacific American Community Development (National CAPACD). In the past, Agnani was one of the founders and executive directors for the Chhaya Community Development Corporation. She has also served on the National CAPACD staff as the Director of Policy and Civic Engagement.

Because of her many roles and experiences with National CAPACD, she has a greater understanding for the organization and its goals. Her background includes work in advocacy for immigrant rights, nonprofit organizations, and even philanthropic sectors, which will help the National CAPACD organization on an even larger scale.

Agnani’s strength and leadership skills helped in leading the Jackson Heights neighborhood in New York City as well as the Chhaya Community Development Corporation through their financial crisis after 9/11. She has also dedicated part of her work toward helping underrepresented communities and standing up against anti-immigration backlash.

In addition, Agnani serves on the board of South Asian Americans Leading Together and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Community Advisory Board.
