Afi Alfred, BSN, RN – Clinical Operations Manager, Bowdoin Street Health Center
Born and raised in Boston, MA Afi is a lifelong resident of the Bowdoin/Geneva neighborhood in Dorchester. She is a first generation American but identifies as a Caribbean-American woman with parents hailing from The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. Afi is currently a graduate student in the Masters of Bioethics program at Harvard Medical School. She is an alumna of the Organization of Nurse Leaders Leadership Academy, the 2013 recipient of the Estelle Paris Advance Nursing Scholarship Award. She is an alumna of the Organization of Nurse Leaders Leadership Academy. She is a member of the American Holistic Nurses Association. Afi is a 2019 YMCA Achiever Award recipient. Additionally, she is the proud founder of the Butterfly Soul Initiative. A non-profit organization that promotes and supports positive personal transformation, while also serving as a resource to aid in mentorship and guidance opportunities to minorities entering into the field of nursing.
