Sharon Walker, PhD

Director – Legal, Translate Bio 

Dr. Sharon M. Walker is a Director in the Legal Group at Translate Bio, a clinical-stage mRNA therapeutics company in Lexington, Massachusetts. Sharon is a chemist turned patent attorney. In her work at Translate Bio, while her focus is on intellectual property and other legal matters, she also uses her chemistry expertise to help guide our scientists. Prior to joining Translate Bio, Sharon has worked in industry, in private legal practice, and as a research scientist in the US and in Switzerland. She also served on the Board of Directors, Governance Committees, and as Clerk for Science Club for Girls from 2019-2020. Sharon received an A.B. in Chemistry from Bowdoin College, a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from The University of California, San Francisco, and a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School.

Dr. Walker was born and raised in the South End neighborhood of Boston. She is committed to championing for girls and women from underrepresented communities to be included in the STEM professions.
