This Saturday, Julie Burros, Chief of Arts and Culture for the City of Boston will present playwright, actor and educator Melinda Lopez with an official proclamation from Mayor Martin J. Walsh that Saturday, October 29, 2016 is “Melinda Lopez Day” in the city of Boston.
The honor is being given to honor and acknowledge the decades of theatre art Melinda Lopez has shared with the city of Boston, as ArtsEmerson celebrates the opening of Mala, the World Premiere of her new one-woman play about family, love and loss, now playing a limited 4-week engagement through November 20, 2016 at the Emerson/Paramount Center, Jackie Liebergott Black Box Theatre.
