National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC)
New England Chapter
NAMIC is the premier organization focusing on cultural diversity, equity and inclusion in the communications industry. It’s membership consists of more than 3,500 professionals belong to a network of 18 chapters nationwide, including the NAMIC New England chapter, who come from a broad range of disciplines representing cable telecommunications, broadcast, digital, radio, film and print media, visual and performing arts. NAMIC members are of every race and from multiple backgrounds and cultures, but they are all committed to a future in which these differences are strengths. NAMIC believes in increased commitment to diversity is simply good business strategy.
The local New England chapter of NAMIC encompasses the states of Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. NAMIC New England members can be found in corporate offices, consisting of television and cable professionals such as ESPN/The Disney Company, Charter Communications, and Comcast/NBC Universal.
Through initiatives that target leadership development, advocacy, and empowerment, NAMIC collaborates with industry partners to grow and nurture a workforce that reflects the cultural richness of the populations served. The organization’s mission is to develop a pipeline of diverse talent from which the next generation of industry leaders will be selected.
