Founded in the winter of 2015, the A-WAY slam team is comprised of high school youth across the Allies Working with Asian/Asian American Youth network. Their mission is to use poetry and performance to break silences and tell their stories as young Asian Americans. They slammed at Louder Than A Bomb! Massachusetts 2016 and 2017. This year’s team is Wenyin Cao, Ian Lee, Amanda Ngo, Tara Nguyen, and Jon Tsang. The A-WAY slam team is coached and founded by poet and youth worker Kaitlin Pang, and assistant coached by John Wang, A-WAY slam team alum.

The A-Way Youth Slam Teams next performance will be Immigrant Families & Forgotten Roots, presented May 16 at Northeastern Crossing. Showtime is 4-6 PM. Admission is free. For more information, click HERE.
