Supplier Diversity Team
Boston Scientific
Boston Scientific transforms lives through innovative medical solutions that improve the health of patients around the world. As a global medical technology leader for more than 35 years, we advance science for life by providing a broad range of high-performance solutions that address unmet patient needs and reduce the cost of healthcare.
Since creating a Supplier Diversity Program in 2011, the team has built the infrastructure, metrics, and resources coupled with a passion to become a nationally recognized Supplier Diversity Program. This has resulted in Boston Scientific spending over $200M with minority, women, small businesses and other diverse suppliers in 2017.
Boston Scientific’s Supplier Diversity Team is an active participant in the Greater New England Minority Supplier Development Council (GNEMSDC), National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), the Diversity Alliance for Science (DA4S), Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and various other organizations advocating for diverse suppliers. Boston Scientific has also held leadership board positions in DA4S and the Healthcare Industry Group of the NMSDC. In addition to this, Boston Scientific promotes active inclusion of diverse suppliers throughout its supply chain. It routinely supports customer programs, supplier diversity-focused reporting, and advocates for supplier diversity with its direct suppliers. In addition to this, two Boston Scientific employees were also recently recognized for their commitment to Supplier Diversity. Anne Leger was named a 2016 “Top 25 Women in Power Impacting Diversity” while Tim Dolan was named a 2016 “Top 30 Champion of Diversity” by DiversityPlus Magazine.
Boston Scientific sees Supplier Diversity as an extension our Diversity and Inclusion mindset externally, fostering a business strategy that ensures a diverse supplier base. Diversity is a core value of Boston Scientific and Supplier Diversity is a key business strategy.
