Ashley Hackett
Senior Program Officer — Harvard Pilgrim Health Care
As Harvard Pilgrim Foundation’s Senior Program Officer, Ashley manages the grant portfolio for the Foundation’s Healthy Food Fund in Massachusetts as well as Healthy Food at Every Age- a grants initiative for older adults that increase access to healthy food and decrease social isolation. Over the past 5 years, she has implemented programming to build healthy communities in diverse communities through grantmaking and corporate volunteering.
In 2015 Ashley founded Harvard Pilgrim’s LGBTQA group, O.P.E.N. (Out. Proud. Engaged. Network.). She currently serves as the group’s Chair. Since its inception, O.P.E.N has led an ally training program in partnership with PFLAG, implemented a pronoun initiative, started an internal Pride Day and organized the company’s participation in Boston’s Pride parade.
Prior to Harvard Pilgrim, Ashley volunteered with the AmeriCorps program, City Year, where she led corporate volunteers in transformative service and helped plan and implement various projects around the country. She graduated from James Madison University with a degree in Sports Medicine.
Ashley has served on the AmeriCorps Alums Board, held a leadership position with the Corporate Volunteerism Council of Boston, and volunteered as a corps member with The Welcoming Committee; a national movement that brings hundreds of LGBTQs to typically ‘straight’ spaces for one-time only experiences.
