The 5th Annual Big Head Community Festival

For a day of family fun, come to the 5th Annual Big Head Community Festival presented by the Boston Juneteenth Committee and the Museum of the National Center of Afro-American Artists, on Saturday, September 9th, from 2 to 8 PM.

This year’s line-up features a rich array of music including the Fred Woodard Jazz Ensemble, African percussion by Cornell Coley, and contemporary sounds by Lady Dee, among others. For the children, there will be face paintings, art workshops, and storytelling as well as games. For adults there are workshops covering topics ranging from entrepreneurship to laughing yoga.

Food, art and artisan vendors will dot the green offering opportunities to support both art and commerce locally. All events are free and open to all.

The Museum of the National Center of Afro-American Artists The Museum is located at 300 Walnut Avenue in Roxbury, MA and open Tuesday through Sunday from 1 until 5PM. Adult admission to the Museum is $5. Senior and children admission is $4. Group tours are available.
