In her role as a Human Resources Executive she is responsible for recruiting, retaining and developing a high performing staff and culture. Responsible for the execution of the company’s talent sourcing, diversity recruiting, and career brand strategies.  Business owner for all things recruiting.  Collaborates with other areas of HR to deliver a cohesive HR practice for the company.

In addition, she is the Diversity and Inclusion Executive leading the practice to advance BCBSMA’s role in the community as an employer of choice for top talent from all backgrounds and personal history.  Co-chairs the Diversity Council with the CEO.  Responsible for developing and facilitating the D&I Strategy of the company.  Leadership of the design and execution of the company’s Diversity & Inclusion goals and reporting.  Business owner of the Career and Culture pillars.  Management of eight Employee Resource Groups that deliver programs to support business operations inclusion best practices. Design and deliver D&I best practices education and forums to foster inclusion in the workplace.

Prior to her current role, Stephanie led the IT Strategy and Planning organization where she was charged with planning and delivering technology programs for the enterprise. In addition to the strategy role, she supported the Corporate Strategy and Innovation teams during the launch of Design Thinking and the Idea Management programs for the company.

Outside of work, Browne is dedicated to service through volunteerism and entrepreneurship. Most recent activities include serving as a National Trustee, Boys and Girls Clubs of America Northeast, Board Director for Cambridge College, Cambridge, MA, Member Mass Business Alliance for Education Advisory Council, Council member for Pine Manor College, Chestnut Hill, MA and Mass   She’s a former Director of the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts Executive Board and a 2016 Leading Women Award recipient. Stephanie is also a member of The Boston Club, National Organizations of Links, Inc. Boston Chapter, and Circle-Lets, Inc. Boston Chapter where she is its National President.

Stephanie’s entrepreneurial interests began in 1998, when she found Divas Uncorked, a Boston based wine education group whose mission is to demystify wine for women and people of color. Stephanie and three other Divas were the first persons of Color to appear as the Keynote Speakers of the International Nederberg Wine Auction in South Africa.

Stephanie is an Executive Leadership Council Pipeline graduate, Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP) Fellow graduate with a Certified Health Insurance Executive (CHIE), and holds a Masters of Education from Cambridge College.

Stephanie and her husband, Basil, live on Martha’s Vineyard in the town of Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts.
