Vice President of Talent Acquisition, Diversity and Inclusion — Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts 

Stephanie Browne is the Vice President of Talent Acquisition and Chief Diversity Officer at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. Stephanie is responsible for setting the strategy, and leading the development and implementation of a world-class talent organization. Her responsibilities include recruiting diverse high quality talent for the organization, building a culture of respect and developing and supporting programs that retain our employees.

Prior to her current role, Stephanie led the IT Strategy and Planning organization that partnered with the operational business areas to plan and deliver technology programs for the enterprise. In addition to the strategy role she supported the Corporate Strategy and Innovation teams during the launch of Design Thinking and the Idea Management programs for the company.

Outside of work, Browne has used her leadership skills for volunteerism and entrepreneurship. Most recent activities include Board Director for Cambridge College, Cambridge, MA and Advisory Council member for Pine Manor College, Chestnut Hill, MA.  She’s a former Director of the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts Executive Board and a 2016 Leading Women Award recipient. Stephanie is a member of The Boston Club, National organizations of Links, Inc. Boston Chapter and Circle-Lets, Inc. Boston Chapter where she is its National Vice President.

In 1998 Stephanie’s interest in wine led her to found Divas Uncorked, a Boston based wine education group whose mission is to demystify wine for women and people of color. Browne has guided the group in taking its private education public—created the national wine conference for women called “Wine, Women, and…”, a chardonnay wine label from Mendocino Wine Company that sold nationally and the “The Divas Uncorked Wine and Food Festival” on Martha’s Vineyard.  Stephanie and three other Divas were the first persons of Color to appear as the Keynote Speakers of the International Nederberg Wine Auction in South Africa.

Stephanie is an Executive Leadership Council Pipeline graduate, AHIP Fellow graduate with a Certified Health Insurance Executive (CHIE) and holds a Masters of Education from Cambridge College.  Stephanie and her husband Basil live on Martha’s Vineyard in the town of Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts.
