On Wednesday, July 13th, 2016, Beat Brasserie, located in Cambridge’s Harvard Square, hosts a night inspired by jazz icon Jaco Pastorius. Often credited for being the best bass player that ever lived, Pastorius was the second bass player to ever be inducted into Down Beat’s Jazz Hall of Fame, and his lasting influence is legendary to jazz enthusiasts and bass players alike. To honor his career and influence on the music industry, four-time Grammy award-winning bass player Oscar Stagnaro will take the stage from 8:00PM – 12:00AM for a memorable night featuring reimagined takes on Pastorius’ work.

All evening long guests are welcome to a full dinner with selections prepared by the Beat Brasserie’s culinary team including the Crispy Tuna Spring Roll with avocado, tomato, wasabi, rice and soy ($12.50), Roasted Local Swordfish with fennel broth, mussels, mixed grains, zucchini and red peppers ($28) and Baby Back Pork Rib Dinner in a sweet chili sauce and served with jasmine rice and slaw ($25). Pair the meal with one of the 36 artisanal American wines on tap from the Beat’s state-of-the-art tap system or one of Beat’s sharable cocktails including the new Cactus Flower Punch Bowl made with Milagro tequila, ginger, lemon and agave, perfect for groups ($45).
