Hector Perez
Chief Executive Officer – Quantum FBI LLC

Hector V. Perez is the CEO and Founder of Quantum FBI, LLC, a strategic finance and business intelligence consulting firm. Hector is a results oriented senior finance executive and business leader with over 20 years of experience across industries and continents.  During this time Hector has helped public, private and non-profit entities improve their operating performance by bringing strategic insights to their organizations.  He has a proven track record of achieving results and driving change through influence and governance.  Hector has leveraged his deep analytical and leadership skills to drive growth through business development, mergers and acquisitions, strategic business planning and change management.  Hector has a passion for developing talent and an ability to lead cross functional teams.

From 2014 to 2016, Hector held the position of Senior Director at TIAA-CREF where he was the Head of Group Financial Planning and Analysis for TAM (TIAA Asset Management), a leading asset manager with $850 billion in assets under management.  In this capacity Hector delivered strategic business intelligence to senior leadership, TIAA CREF’s Operating Committee and the Board of Directors.  In addition, Hector was responsible to the streamlining of finance operations for this multi-boutique asset manager.  Responsibilities included strategic planning, capital planning, business intelligence, reporting and forecasting of results.  Hector oversaw the integration of finance functions for acquisitions including the acquisition of Nuveen Investments, the 4th largest asset management transaction in the industry’s history.  Hector’s role called for close collaboration with corporate finance, corporate development, sales, legal, human resources, technology and other functional areas.

Prior to joining TIAA-CREF, Hector was a Client Service Partner at Tatum (a division of Randstad), a management and advisory consulting firm focused on accounting, finance, technology and operations advisory services catering to the private equity industry.  In his role Hector was responsible for developing the New York office’s go to market strategy, client service and business development.  This responsibility included sales, client and engagement management, development of the client service delivery model and the recruitment of talent.

From 1996 to 2011, Hector was a member of PwC where he held various roles within Audit, Transaction Services and the Office of the CFO and Vice Chairman.  Hector’s audit clients included hedge funds, private equity funds, mutual funds, banks and broker dealers.  In addition, Hector worked on private equity owned portfolio companies, across various industries.  While in the transaction services group, Hector performed buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence for both strategic and financial buyers/ seller.  His engagement experience includes both domestic and international assignments.  While in the Office of the CFO, Hector led firm-wide strategic projects spanning across various lines of business.  In this capacity, Hector led cross function operations meetings with Line of Service Operations Leaders focused on operating performance of the Firm.  These meetings focus on a multitude operational issues, from human resource policies to risk management to capital deployment policies.  Hector was responsible for delivering monthly and quarterly financial reporting to all PwC Partners across the United States.

Hector is a graduate of Pace University, where he earned a Bachelors in Business Administration – Public Accounting degree.  He is a CPA in the State of New York.

Hector has held various community leadership roles including National President and Chair of the Board of ALPFA (Association of Latino Professionals For America), a national leadership organization that builds Latino business leaders with more than 80,000 members.  Today, Hector continues to be on ALPFA’s National Board and a member of the Executive Committee.  Hector is currently a Board Member of ACG NY (Association of Corporate Growth), an organization focused on the private equity industry, where he is the Chair of the Membership Committee.  Hector is a former member of the Board of Trustees of the Health Care Chaplaincy, a global health care organization, where he was Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee.  In 2009, Hector was recognized by the AICPA for his outstanding contributions to the accounting profession.  Other community activities include, Junior Achievement, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the New York State Society’s Career Opportunities in the Accounting Profession Program.
