Boston Conservatory Celebrates Women’s History Month

From the moment it opened its doors in 1867, Boston Conservatory also opened up new opportunities for women who never before had access to a conservatory-style education. The Conservatory celebrates Women’s History Month by highlighting some of the trailblazing women that actively shaped the school’s history and impacted the performing arts.

 

March 31: Berklee Global Jazz Institute pays tribute to jazz era icons Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie, and Thelonious Monk in March 31 concert

 

On March 31, the Berklee Global Jazz Institute (BGJI) will present its eighth annual Berklee Global Jazz Summit with a special concert. This year’s summit celebrates the impact of Dizzy Gillespie, Thelonious Monk, and Ella Fitzgerald in today’s global jazz era. The performance will feature Grammy award-winning professors Danilo Pérez, Terri Lyne Carrington, and Joe Lovano, among others.

 

March 27: Bastille visits Berklee to present their new tour documentary film

 

The pop-rock group headlining Agganis Arena on Monday, March 27 will stop by Berklee’s David Friend Recital Hall from 1-2:30 PM that afternoon to present an exclusive screening of their film Help Me Chase Those Seconds, documenting their rise from pub band to global headliner. Jeff Apruzzese ’08, co-founder of Passion Pit, will moderate a Q&A session with the group after the screening. The screening is exclusively for Berklee and Boston Conservatory students.
