Beat Hosts Tribute to Ella Fitzgerald

On Tuesday, April 25th, 2017, Beat Brasserie celebrates the 100th birthday of jazz legend, Ella Fitzgerald. From 8 to 11 PM, enjoy a night of classic Fitzgerald tunes performed live by jazz virtuoso, Liz Tobias, while enjoying hand-crafted dishes and libations.

With a total of 13 Grammy awards and more than a half a century of influence as the most popular female jazz singer in the United States, the “First Lady of Song” Ella Fitzgerald’s accomplishments continue to be recognized across the nation. Her wide vocal range, the purity of her voice, and dedication to the art of jazz earned her a two-week long performance alongside Frank Sinatra and Count Basie. Her incredible achievements earned her multiple awards including the National Medal of Arts and the Kennedy Center Honors for her decades of work and inspiration to the arts.

Join the celebration with Liz Tobias, who will take the stage beginning at 8 PM to pay tribute to the works of Ella Fitzgerald. Tobias, who has been referred to as a “breath of fresh air on the world jazz stage” is known for her charm, modern renditions of old works as well as creative interpretations of new works. She has committed her life to the art of jazz as a teacher at many universities including Jazz Choir Director at the University of New Hampshire.
